Abstract

 

     The uncertainties of the gird planning of the Western Resources-based Cities in China are stronger than common cities. General load forecasting methods are difficult to accurately predict the dynamic changes of power load. This paper applies GIS in load forecasting of for western resource-based cities together with spatial electric load forecasting method. A case study of Karamay City in Xinjiang Province is used to prove the validity of the method. The calculation result shows the method is more accurate compared to other forecasting methods, which could effectively reduce the uncertainties and risks. Hope the work in this paper could provide some references for uncertainties process of grid planning in China’s western region.
